Neighbourhood Watch

By Alan Ayckbourn

Produced by Karen Evans

Wednesday 17th - Saturday 20th June 2026

Brother and sister, Martin and Hilda Massie, have moved to Bluebell Hill Development where they hope to enjoy a quiet, Christian existence. Just as they are preparing for a housewarming gathering, their peace is shattered by a young trespasser in their garden. Neighbours congregate, and together they agree to form a neighbourhood watch group to safeguard against crime. But after the Massie’s beloved garden gnome Monty is thrown through their window, matters swiftly escalate, complicated by Martin’s burgeoning romance with Amy, wife of Gareth, rather too soon after her affair with Luther, husband of Magda…….. What begins as a well-intentioned scheme for a safer community ends in violence and acrimony.

Rope By Patrick Hamilton

Wednesday 11th - Saturday 14th November 2026

Two wealthy students, Wyndham Brandon and Charles Granillo, murder a former classmate, Ronald Raglane, to prove their intellectual superiority. They conceal the body in a chest and then host a dinner party in their apartment, using the chest as a supper table. The guests include Ronald's father and their former teacher, Rupert Cadell, whose presence heightens the tension as he begins to suspect their involvement. As the evening progresses, the two murderers become increasingly erratic, and Cadell's suspicions grow, leading to a tense climax where their crime is ultimately revealed. Rope blends a drawing-room comedy of manners with the suspense of a murder mystery. The play is notable for taking place in continuous time, creating sustained tension as the audience watches the killers’ plan unfold minute by minute.
