This dark thriller, written by Bernard Slade centres
around Blair Griffin, a fading movie star who is in retreat in her
country hideaway in Massachusetts. In the throes of divorce, she invites
her husband Morgan to collect some of his paintings and he is murdered
by Tony Lombardi, a photographer who has been following her career
(and her!) for many years. Why did he kill Morgan? Is Blair involved?
The local police, in the form of jaded Lieutenant Gus Braden and sharp
Sergeant Doris Ayleworth have to sort it out. When Gus becomes emotionally
entangled with Blair, what seems straightforward is not. Another killing
and a suspected rape only make the situation more difficult. A cracking
tale with lots of twists and turns right up to, and including, the
very last second. This play will keep audiences on the edge of their
seats.
