This hilarious farce, written by Ray Cooney, starts
with the discovery of a dead body in a hotel room by a married Conservative
MP who is spending the evening there with a female secretary from
the Labour party. The interventions of a concerned hotel manager and
an intrusive waiter cause the MP to call for the assistance of his
Parliamentary Private Secretary to sort the mess out. When the MP's
wife, the secretary's husband and the PPS's mother's nurse appear,
the situation tumbles deeper into hilarious chaos.
This brilliantly written play, by the master of farce, provides a
riotous evening of entertainment with laugh following laugh as the
characters try to dig themselves out of the sticky situation they
put themselves in, in the first place.
